A fabulous old 193O’s Merrythought bear – not perfect by any means but so lovely. She is 20 inches tall but looks larger – she is quite an impressive looking old girl. She is fully jointed and largely kapok stuffed with some woodwool to the head. 2 of her pads are original – one has her Hygienic label attached – she also has her celluloid button in her ear – the other 2 pads have been covered with felt. She has some mohair – there are sparse areas but I would estimate she is about 50% covered. As you can see she has sustained damage to her muzzle and been given some mommy repairs – her nose and mouth have also been restitched and one ear has had a repair which you have to look to see. In spite of this she is still a strong bear full of charm – she has such a lovely kindly face I have called her Mother and given her a pretty dress and old “Mother” brooch to wear. If you are looking for a perfect Merrythought she will not be the girl for you but if you love your bears full of character you will love her xxx
Please be aware I am a lover of the tattier old teds with oodles of character so bear this mind before buying – no bear will be perfect – far from it – but I guarantee they are all perfectly adorable. I try to list every bear accurately – if there is anything I forget I can only apologise – I try to put plenty of photos up so please take a good look as these form part of the description. I happily post overseas but anything over 40 in value HAS to be tracked hence overseas postage may seem a lot – if postage is less than quoted I will happily refund the difference.
