Meet Sadie and Dockleaf, two Chiltern Hygienic teddy bears from the 1960s. Both are made from plush fur (silk or cotton, not sure which) and are quite firmly stuffed but with soft filling. Both are unjointed and are bears designed to sit. Sadie is the larger bear and shes 22 when laid out straight, but seated, shes just under 15. Her fur is russet/copper and soft beige and is not worn in any areas, but a little faded and could do with a little dust or clean in some places. Dockleaf is 14 stretched out and just over 9 when seated. His fur is blue and soft beige and there are very few worn patches – really just one where his mouth should be – and again, his fur could do with a bit of a dust/sponge in places. Both have their original amber plastic eyes and Sadie has her original black plastic nose and mouth stitching. Dockleaf has a little round felt nose, which looks like it could be original, but no mouth stitching. There are no holes or tears anywhere on either bear. They both have what appears to be their original bows and Sadie has her original tag, which says: Chiltern Washable Soft Toy an exclusive creation by the House of Rees with instructions for washing on the back of the label (see pics) They both have their Chiltern tags under their arms on their left sides. Sadie and a Dockleaf are looking for a new home together.Really sorry, will only post within the UK- no international postage.
