You are bidding on a RARE Merrythought Teddy Bear, the reason he is rare is because he has a metal button in his ear, these are normally lost and the use of were discontinued quiet early on. I think he is from the 1930s. He is a lovely Old Bear, despite his lack of fur. He has a Growler, that no longer works and has lots of wear to his fur. There is also some missing black wool to his mouth and nose. All his paws are original and the Merrythought label is on one. Some parts of the wool claws are missing. His eyes are the push in type, so beware for little children as they are on spikes. His head is straw filled as it squeaks when depressed, the body is softer filled. His Name is Leon (Noel Backwards), but he is looking for a new home and is Happy with a new name. Wear at back of neck, see photo, His Knitted clothes are a later addition and are made very well. I am no expert so Please ask any questions or for more photos for you to decide. I am also selling the last part of a family collection of Dolls and teddy Bears, whichvary in age, some are from the 1900s others from early 2000.
