This is a delightful and very rare antique teddy bear novelty; a white mohair teddy muff with jointed head, made by Ideal in the 1920’s.
There is a virtually identical example of this teddy muff in The American Teddy Bear Encyclopedia by Linda Mullins and I have shown the reference of this in one of the photographs, so please check relevant image.
The teddy muff is lined with faded blue cotton fabric and there is an inoperative squeaker mechanism to the inside tummy part of the toy.
As far as I can tell, all of the features are original and not replacements.
This fabulous and rare teddy novelty is fresh to the market from a private collection.
