Mista Mittens | BIG 22inch American Ideal Teddy
“He is such a lovely big boy, antique ted with character. I think he looks better in real life than the photographs! He really is the bear which grows, and grows on you the more you look at him.”
This is Mista Mittens. He’s a large 22 inch fully jointed old ted. He was made by Ideal in America in the 1920’s. He can be easily identified as an Ideal ted thanks to his distinctive nose stitching!
He has a lovely profile with strong muzzle, and brilliant hump! I love a hump!! He is fully stuffed with woodwool and retains his original facial stitching. He also wears 3 pretty old ribbons matching the American flag.
Mista Mittens has acquired his name thanks to previous loving owner who with care recovered his feet pads with wooly plush, and did the same to his hands! I have left this just how he is, as to me this shows he was part of a family, and played with happily … and looked after – what a lucky boy Mista Mitten was.
Sadly he’s now been left behind so the time has come for his American chap to find a new home to settle into.
She’s shown here with his friend Wolfy Dog who is also looking a home.
