Beautiful and sad looking little chap wanting a new home…
Unfortunately having to down size my collection, so this rare and very early American bear would love a new owner to cherish him the way I have.
Please see all the pics as they form a very large part of my description! He comes from a smoke and pet/child free home.
He’s a nice size at 16″, and the most amazing colour that I’m not sure shows up very well in the pics. Some patches of thinning and slight balding, especially on the back of, and between, his legs. There’s been some ‘mummy’ stitching added to paw pads, and around the seams, and on his tummy, there are more black stitches that assume aren’t original! His growler doesn’t work but you can hear the clunk of it if you shake him gently.
I have always thought he was an early Ideal bear, due to his triangular foot pads and his nose stitching, but certainly bears by other manufacturers such as Hecla, etc, also shared some of his traits. His eyes are amazing, and original, a kind of yellow gold painted colour with black pupils.
Superb old teddy bear, will miss him greatly. He will come to you wearing his vintage waistcoat.
