AN ENDEARING OLD ANTIQUE ENGLISH 1920S
PINK MOHAIR DOG 13″
This adorable antique pink mohair dog dates from 1920 – 1930 and is of English manufacture. He does not have a label, which makes it impossible to identify his maker with any certainty.He is unjointed (permanently seated) but has internal wires in his front legs which gives them some movement.
He measures thirteen inches in height from his front paws to the top of his head, and 14 inches in length from nose to tail.
He is made of pink mohair (apart from his chest and muzzle which are cream mohair). His mohair is clean and retains approximately 70% coverage. His mohair has some age-related fading, but this is even overall. He is filled entirely with wood wool, which is still firmly and evenly distributed, and has a non-operative reed and bellows type growler located in the left side of his body.
He has lovely large original (stitched in) painted back glass eyes which retain approximately 75% paint.
He retains all his original brown vertically stitched nose with longer downwards end stitches and muzzle.

As can be seen in the photographs, he is not perfect, and does have age related playwear issues, which are as follows:
His pink mohair has some age-related fading, but he is still an even overall colour.
His cream mohair was (I think) originally white but has turned cream with age.
His mohair has some sparse and bald areas which have minor age-related discolouration and light marks
He has a couple of very neatly and unobtrusively repaired small splits in his mohair which are only visible under close scrutiny in bright light.Although he is not perfect, he is still adorable. He is basically sound and in good to reasonable condition, THIS TIMEWORN BUT STILL DELIGHTFUL ANTIQUE PINK MOHAIR DOG HAS A GREAT DEAL OF GENTLE CHARM. HE DISPLAYS VERY WELL & WOULD BE A WONDERFUL COMPANION FOR A LONELY ANTIQUE TEDDY BEAR.
