ATTIC CLEAROUT;I’m having an absolute clearout of my attic and finally selling my family’s collectables;(sadly another relative passed away at Christmas and hence the current round of listings…Happy hunting!You are bidding for ‘Humphrey’…..Humphrey is a bit of a lost soul, like me really!.Humphrey was my Aunts Bear. He was gifted to my Aunt by her mother, my Grandmother in around c1913-18, possibly a touch later into the very early 1920’s. I think Humphrey may be even older.Humphrey is a mohair bear with cork filling and cardboard or wooden joints. He has the most adorable glass eyes and a missing right ear!. He has burlap paw pads with what feels like silk patches. He is missing his black thread nose and his growler inner mechanism I don’t think works, it clunks rather than growls……Whilst HUMPHREY may not be perfect and sometimes feels like he’s falling apart at the seams…again like me!…he is a very good boyPossibly German or American, maybe Bing or Steiff…I know not.
