Very Old Bear made around 1900 likely by the German Company Bing (a similar bear can be seen in the Bing reference book by Ken Yenke ). He measures around 7 inches long in a walking position.
With the very early bears their bodies were made of papier-mch, and covered in mohair. He has one original glass eye, one replacement, and retains his original ribbon to his neck.
Due to being over 120 years he does have some wear as shown, and one leg is a little wobbly with a few small bits of papier-mch heard rattling inside; this would be easily fixed, and doesn’t have any detriment in that he can still freely stand with ease.
He’s a very interesting rare old bear and would make an great addition to any collection.
