This wonderful and very rare Antique White Cat Automaton dates I believe to around 1900 or thereabouts.I have been reliably informed that the Cat originates from France-those with more knowledge than myself will know at a glance.The Cat measures approximately 20.5 inches from nose to tail end and stands approximately 10 inches high maximum.She weighs approximately 728 grams.Her body is covered with Fur and I believe the body is Papier Mache-certainly the visible part of the body around the wheels are.She has glass eyes, whiskers and a red felt tongue.The key to the side is brass and large-I have no idea whether this is the original one but it operates the mechanism which makes the Cat walk and squeak.The walking mechanism does work but after a few steps the Cat tilts over-I think that maybe some adjustment to one of the legs needs to be done but this would need to be carried out by someone with the required knowledge and that is certainly not me!The Cat squeaks/meows every now and then and when this happens the mouth moves.

I consider the Cat to be in great vintage condition with any signs of wear being relatively minor considering she is around 120 years old!
Any signs of wear are commensurate with age and normal use.
She has been very well loved and cared for and will look wonderful amongst any similar collection or as a Companion for an Antique Doll or Teddy Bear.
