Adorable early Merrythought bear circa 1930, 100% genuine with label and ear tag. Shaggy mohair bear made from a luxurious long pile mohair plush. Large amber glass eyes with back pupils set wide apart. Large flat ears sewn across the facial seam shaved muzzle, some of the nose embroidery has rubbed away but you can still see the outline of the distinct Merry thought nose. Remains of orange felt pads which need replacing but it is still possible to see the webbed claws. Wood wool stuffing in muzzle the rest is kapock. Rare survivor in this size, really good covering of mohair just a bit of thinning to head too many kisses !!! And a bit of wear to tummy where his squeaker is which unfortunately no longer works. Really sweet fellow for any serious Merrythought collector or anyone who loves old bears.
