Rare Antique Mohair Caesar Terrier Dog Soft Toy King Edward VII Dog Possibly FarnellGorgeous mohair dog based on King Edward VIIs favourite pet – a wire fox terrier named Caesar. A few different companies manufactured Caesar dogs including Steiff and Bing. I believe this one was made by Farnell c.1920.Stands on all fours, unjointed with wire frame, with clear and black glass eyes, stitched nose and mouth, cloth pads and four stitched claws to each paw. Leather collar. Very lifelike with a lovely face.Height 35cm/ 14 approx., length from nose to tail 39.5cm/ 15.5 approx. Overall very good condition considering he is 100 years old, with some discolouration and mohair loss. Some light scratches to eyes and collar a little worn. Not sure if pads and claws replaced?!
