Chunky mid 20th century Pedigree? blonde mohair teddy bear. Circa 1950-60
Standing at 16″ tall this golden mohair teddy bear was possibly made by Pedigree? circa 1950-1960. He is in very good condition and has a good coverage of his blonde mohair with just slight overall thinning and a couple of small bare spots including around his musical key but I would still estimate he has retained approximately 85-90% coverage overall. Please note the musical mechanism has lost the brass ring that would make it much easier to turn and the mechanism is quite lazy and will only play a few notes at a time.
All of his original features are intact including his orange and black plastic safety eyes, black felt nose (which has a hole in the centre) and creamy white plush paw pads and although he no longer has any labels, I think he was possibly made by Pedigree. He is a chunky looking bear and is quite heavy for his size, being stuffed with a mixture of wood wool and what I think is cotton sub and he has an endearing and slightly more confident look than his almost identical twin brother who is being offered in a separate auction.
