Cheeky little wool plush and felt monkey Circa 1940’s-50’s.
This auction is for the Farnell type monkey as shown in the photos.
I would think he dates from circa 1940’s and is in very good condition
with no damage or repairs and maybe just needs a light surface clean
to freshen him up a little although he is not too grubby and does not
smell bad. His plush is a wool or alpaca blend and his face, ears, hands
and feet are made from felt. He is 5 ways string jointed and his feet
and hands are also have a malleable wire frame so that
he can be displayed hanging up.
All of his original features are intact, including his amber and black
glass eyes and the peeled, felt banana he is holding in his right hand and
he stand at just 8″ (20 cm) tall. He is a cheeky looking chap that would
make a wonderful companion for your other bears and soft toys.
