Cute little mohair plush lion purse. Circa 1930’s-40’s.
This auction is for the mohair lion purse as shown in the photos.
He was possibly made by Farnell and dates to circa 1930’s-40’s or
thereabouts. He measures 10″ long from his nose to the base of his
tail and is stuffed with wood wool with a silk lined compartment.
There are some small damages including a couple of small holes in
his backing fabric by the zip and the tip of his tail and the blue silk
lining also has some small tears and repairs. The zip is stiff
but still works and there is some thinning and bare patches to
the mohair plush but he still retains approximately 85% coverage
overall. He has his original amber and black glass eyes and is an
unusual soft toy that would make a nice companion for your
other bears and soft toys.
