Sweet but slightly grumpy looking 1950’s Farnell teddy bear in good condition.
Standing at 13″ tall, not including his ears, this slightly grumpy looking teddy bear was made by Farnell
circa 1950 and is in good condition with all his original features intact. He is stuffed with kapok in his body,with a little wood wool around his joints and wood wool in his head and is five ways jointed with all his limbs turning easily so he can be nicely posed. He has a very good coverage of his golden mohair with just slight
overall thinning and a few bare spots which do not detract from his charm and character and I would estimate he has retained a good 95%+ coverage overall. He is slightly grubby and could do with a light surface clean to fluff and freshen him up but the are no nasty niffs apart from the sweet smell of old wood wool.
All of his original features are intact, including his amber and black glass eyes and his black cotton thread, nose and mouth stitching. His rexine pads are surface worn but in good condition and there are no holes, damage or repairs. He does look a bit grumpy, but I think this is because he is shy! aahhh and I’msure he would cheer up if introduced to a hug of bears where he could sit amongst friends.
