Sweet little Merrythought teddy bear. Circa 1950’s
This lovely little Merrythought teddy bear dates to the 1950’s and is 13″ tall and five ways jointed
with all his joints working smoothly so he can be nicely posed. His head, body and limbs are stuffed with kapok with just a little wood wool in his muzzle and he has a non working press growler in his tummy. He has been loved, as you can see from the photos, but he still retains a very goodcoverage of his soft gold mohair plush with just slight overall thinning and some small bare spots
which do not detract from the character and charm of this lovely bear.
All of his original features are intact, including his amber and black glass eyes and his black cotton
thread nose and mouth stitching and his felt paw pads are slightly grubby but with no holes or damage.he could probably do with a light surface clean, just to fluff him up but there are no nasty odours.The ‘MERRYTHOUGHT IRONBRIDGE SHROPSHIRE’ label on his left foot dates him to post 1957.
Overall he is in good sturdy condition with a bright smile and a very endearing inquisitive expression and he would make a lovely addition to any hug of bears.
Being offered with a very reasonable ‘Buy it Now’ price, but as ever, I am open to all sensible offers.
