This is Peaches, She’s a 15″ 1920-30’s Chiltern Teddy bear with wonderfully soft mohair fur. She’s a gorgeous old bear with a very sweet face and she is perfectly ‘hug ready’ for the discerning collector as she has been very carefully cleaned, restored and dressed.
Peaches is five way jointed and all her joints work well. She has been very carefully cleaned and smells nicely of bear…her fur is beautifully soft and can easily be combed through (no areas of matted fur whatsoever) She has been very well loved over the years and has all round areas of thinning fur but still retains enough soft fluffy fur to give her heaps of character, please see all photos as they also form part of the description. I think her colour was originally more golden but her fur has faded over the years to a lovely soft blond shade.
Peaches has glass eyes which were originally painted on the backs but over the years some of this has worn away….They have been stitched in as original so are nice and secure. She is perfectly filled with wood wool throughout.
Her paw pads were beyond repair when she came to me so I have replaced them all with vintage linen fabric, matching them in well with what was previously there and they have been sewn into place in the same way that she was made. The wood wool stuffing was retained whilst doing this repair and put back in as original. She has had her claw stitching replaced with matching vintage thread.Her Nose and Mouth stitching are original but I have added two matching stitches to her nose.
Peaches has a working tilt growler, It’s unusual and delightful to find one that is still working especially in a bear of this age.
Peaches comes with her pretty vintage cardigan and a soft pair of angora yarn trousers…She also has silk chiffon bows which tie around her ears.Her price includes next day special delivery for UK purchases and I use eBay’s global shipping programme for international purchases. She will come protected in a strong cotton drawstring bag, bubble wrapped and she will travel in a strong cardboard box. I will keep you notified and give you your tracking details as soon as Peaches is on her way.
