Minky is a darling old mohair Merrythought bear dating to the early 1930s. At just 12″ tall he is quite a rare size to find complete with label and button, as the more portable and cuddlable the bear was, the more wear he would get, and mothers would often take out the buttons for safety. He has his original glass eyes and typical Merrythought nose stitching, with the dropped outer stitches. He also retains the trademark claw stitching associated with Merrythought bears from this period. His embroidered label is stitched to his right foot and his celluloid covered metal  button is fixed to his left shoulder. He has lots of mohair loss to his body, although his head, arms and legs have good coverage. He has a water stain to the top of his back around the area where his button is fixed. He also appears to havd had his back seam restitched, and his left leg joint appears to have been stitched up, even though you can still feel the disc. This doesnt prevent him from sitting nicely though.  He comes with his natty little knitted red cardigan. He is clean and sweet smelling, has lots of character and would make a delightful addition to any old bear hug.
