This is Scamp,  a bonkers little old standing mohair dog dating to as early as the 1920s.  He is beautifully made,  9″ tall,  with manic looking glass eyes, and a handstitched nose and mouth, and his original leather collar. He has an early Chad Valley celluloid button under his left ear and a red and white embroidered early label on his tummy. He has a fair anount of mohair loss, retaining around 65% of his mohair. He has no holes or rips or tears to his fabric, but he does appear to have lost his tail  if he ever had one! These early examples with buttons and labels are getting increasingly difficult to find,  and he is a lovely example. He is clean and fresh smelling, displays beautifully, and he would make a lovely addition to any old bear collection.
