Lionel is a really fabulous old character – he dates to the 1930’s and looks to be an old Chad Valley Magna – could even be a Chad Valley Peacock. He is 20 inches tall, fully jointed and a mix of kapok and woodwool stuffed – he is missing a lot of stuffing in his legs so cannot stand but sits perfectly well – he has not been on the sherry! He has lost nearly all of his mohair and has old replaced pads which are serviceable – he has few little tears to his fabric and some of it has darkened with age. Lionel has had his nose restitched as well as replacement glass eyes and stitched repairs to his muzzle – he has been played with a lot over the years and has definitely suffered with age. In spite of this he is a wonderful old bear with oodles of character. He will arrive wearing his wonderful vintage outfit – lovely old knitted longjohns and a wooly sweater. He is a real treat………but please only buy if you love the old characters xxxx
Please be aware I am a lover of the tattier old teds with oodles of character so bear this mind before buying – no bear will be perfect – far from it – but I guarantee they are all perfectly adorable. I try to list every bear accurately – if there is anything I forget I can only apologise – I try to put plenty of photos up so please take a good look as these form part of the description. I happily post overseas but anything over 40 in value HAS to be tracked hence overseas postage may seem a lot – if postage is less than quoted I will happily refund the difference.
