This charming pair of old Schuco dancing mice probably date to late 1930’s, early 1940’s era.
I think it is generally believed that the bigger mouse was based on Disney’s Mickey, but I also believe Schuco had a range of these amazing dancing clockwork toy characters, with the generic name of Hopsa.
The baby Hopsa toy usually wears a grass skirt and my little mouse has his/her skirt, and is generally in fine condition.
The bigger mouse (Mickey, or not), shows some signs of wear, so please check all the pictures and do please read the written condition report too.

The auction includes the key, also shown. The big mouse dances well still, but the mechanism which is meant to lift the smaller mouse doe not seem to work, so this will require some attention.
