Poor old Austin The Austere….his severe looks put people off finding the real bear, and all he wants is to be loved in time for Christmas….
Please see condition report, read what follows, and look at ALL the pics, as they form a very large part of the description. I’m reassessing and down sizing my collection, hence this genuine but challenged bear is for sale.
He has several balding areas, mostly to the head. I’m not convinced his glass eyes are the originals, and all his paw pads have issues. All had been recovered, but I’ve removed several layers of recovering to find what was underneath, only leaving the right one as he came to me. Left paw pad found to be in very poor condition, both foot pads are just about passable, with holes either there or coming. He has a label on his left foot, but it is stained and unreadable as a result. Could be a Chad Valley Magna label, or who knows, maybe it was a Peacock label!
There are also some slight stains and loose stitches in places. Again, look at the pics, and please do feel free to ask any questions. He’s a nice size at 18″ tall. Feels as if there may be a squeaker or growler in his tummy, but it’s very sunk now with the stuffing! He no longer growls, if he ever did.
