Antique / Vintage 16 inch 1950s Twyford Mohair Teddy Bear
Welcome to my auction I specialise in original vintage bears in the best possible condition, so the more discerning collectors can source genuine old bears that they will be proud to own.
I have been working with bears for 40 years now, so any purchase you make from me can be done with the greatest of confidence – I have many very happy customers, many of whom are repeat buyers who appreciate the quality and integrity in my listings!
I particularly specialise in Steiff Chiltern bears and musical bears but I also have other bears when I find examples of the required quality.

If you have any queries about any of my listings, please feel free to email me at ITEM DESCRIPTION Layaway available on all bears please ask for details This is an all original 16 inch 1950’s post war Twyford mohair Teddy Bear in excellent condition with his original label. He is an exceptionally beautiful bear, measuring 16 inches standing, 12 inches in seated position and is in excellent clean condition throughout – please see photos to evaluate.
He comes from a pet free, smoke free home.
Teddy is made from a really nice grade of mohair in an attractive gold colour – he has great mohair coverage and will come with his new pyjamas, which he loves wearing all year round – of course if you prefer, you may easily remove them.
He is fully jointed – all his joints are in good working order and his body and limbs are soft filled but he has a straw filled head, as was common with this type of bear in the fifties.
He has the most endearing face, with original eyes and original embroidered nose.
Teddy’s paw and foot pads are all original in contrasting coloured velvet (they produced these bears with several different colour pads) and all are in excellent condition. All in all he is a superb example of a vintage bear in excellent, clean condition and you can buy with confidence – he is a wonderful old Teddy with bags of character looking for a new home! He will be sent out by first class recorded delivery.
