Antique / Vintage 18inch TWYFORD Teddybear – 1950’s
With label still attached!
Teddy stands 18 inches tall and he is in exceptional condition for his age.
I estimate this bear to be c1950’s as he has the older style mohair, which is quite different to the later bears of the 1960’s.
His label is also an indicator of his approximate age.
I have looked him over very carefully and he has no particular wear spots at all; his mohair coverage is very even throughout, and he is fully articulated.
His rexine hand paw pads show a little wear, as would be expected, but with no holes.
His foot pads do however have holes exposing his soft stuffing, (teddy must have done a lot of walking!).
He is soft filled throughout his body and all limbs, and his head is excelsior filled.
He has retained his original glass eyes and nose stitching.
His ears are still firmly attached.
There is a hard area to his back when tapped, suggesting he may have a growler but if so, this is no longer working.
A really lovely example of the now rare, old Twyford bears!
