An adorable all original Merrythought bear from my own collection. He is clean, fresh smelling and from a non smoking home. This bear was made in Ironbridge Shropshire in 1939. Merrythought define him as being a pre-war bear. He measures 15 inches high not including his ears. He is made from curly mohair. The mohair has faded but the original colour which was amber can be seen on one arm, back of his legs and in his joints. He has a working squeaker in his tummy, the mohair being worn away at the point due to years of having his tummy pressed, but otherwise the mohair coverage is excellent.Bear has glass eyes, a stitched nose, shaved muzzle and brown felt pads with the distinctive stitching pattern of the 1930s bears.
