Here we have an adorable old mohair kangaroo with the most expressive face, with her little baby joey intact in her pouch. She is just over 14″ tall with an endearing face including long alluring eyelashes. She has enormous card lined feet, one of which carries a 1950s Merrythought label. There is a split to the edge of the card lining the right foot (see pic) and a little thinning of the mohair to her thighs and back, see pics, but otherwise she is in very good condition, as is her little baby, who can be removed from his mum’s pouch but much prefers snuggling down. I know Merrythought did produce a more comical, less realistic version of Kanga and Roo but I personally think this pair are far more true to the Ernest Shepard illustrations.
Clean and fresh smelling, they would look great in any old toy collection.
