xx Elsie – TLC Restoration – LARGE 26″ Chiltern Teddy Bear & Antique Old Clothes
Aww this is adorable Elsie. She is a lovely English Teddy Bear made by Chiltern in the 1930’s. Elsie has been well loved over the years – which is a wonderful thought (all those cuddles and adoring looks) but it’s meant that she could now do with finding that special person out there who would like to give her some TLC. I had considered giving Elsie some tlc myself, but I decided that it would be a lovely simple project for someone, which would not only increase her value, but also be so satisfying. It would be an ideal project for someone starting out in restoration. ~ she needs some more stuffing in her nose, and top of her chest. ~ her shoulder and ankle seams need restitching ~her hand fur needs re stitching as has torn at some point, and pad replacing.
She stands a large 26inches tall, is covered in lots of clean golden mohair, is fully jointed and stuffed with kapok and woodwool. She has glass eyes, her feet pads are in excellent condition and she retains all her original claw stitching and original facial stitching.Elsie is brimming with potential, and large furry Chilterns aren’t that common – yet they’re so lovely. She enjoys spending her days either lounging on a bed, or taking a stroll into the garden should the weather be acceptable :-) She will head to her new home dressed in her own vintage sunday dress, lacey shawl and her favourite little vintage potpourri posey. She is a wonderful clean ted who’s just looking for some love … could you be her new fur-ever friend?All offers considered and I always combine postage costs where applicable.
