Teddy Thirsk – old furry adorable Chiltern Bear TLC restoration mohair antique
This little Poppet is Teddy Thirsk (christened that name from a previous owner some time ago – he came with a tag around his arm with his name on :-) xxx). He’s a Chiltern Bear dating to the early 1950’s i’d think.
He stands around 21 inches tall and is stuffed with kapok and woodwool. His limbs are fully jointed but Teddy Thirsk would like a little love …. his neck is fixed in place! He’s therefore either searching for a loving owner who wants him with his fixed neck, or a clever poppet who could do some basic restoration to him to let him look around at life!
He has a stitched nose and mouth, glass eyes, fantastic condition rexine pads and oodles of fluffy blonde mohair, amusingly at some point, someone has trimmed it slightly on his cheeks but personally, honestly I adore that. I feel like he’s lived his life and had fun experiences – so for me – it actually adds to his little character bless him. I like bears who are a little different.
He’s a lovely ted in that, he’s a tlc option, or completely lovable as is, as he’s a nice strong bear.
Teddy Thirsk really does have potential and could be that special bear for the right person! I’d love to see him if he’s restored!!! x
