Two bears beautifully aged, from a loving home for the past 80 or so years and now need a new loving home and lot’s of TLC.
Chiltern bears came into being in 1915 in Buckinghamshire, England. Chiltern teddy bears were taken over by Chad Valley in 1967 and are still produced under that label to this day. There are some wonderful Chiltern vintage bears on the market today. Chiltern started out as a toy manufacturer in 1908 with their first bear, the “Master Bear” being brought out in 1915. He was an instant hit with the little ones and Chiltern brought out a further line of “Hugmee” bears in 1923.The Hugmee Chiltern teddy bears were of wonderful quality, being constructed from sumptuous materials like mohair, sometimes trimmed with luxurious velvet footpads – no wonder they are such popular vintage bears with collectors today. Chiltern bears largely went out of production during the war era, though a small number continued to be produced by their London factory making them highly collectible today. The company was named after the Chiltern Hills in England, an area of outstanding natural beauty.
PLEASE NOTE: The large bear’s head has come off so he will need a trip to the bear doctor…
Other than that they are both in a good condition…
The little Bear is 13 & a Half inches tall (343mm)
The Big Bear is 15 Inches Tall (381mm)
