This rather unusual and yet somewhat charming Antique early Victorian Doll with clothes dates I believe to around 1850 or thereabouts. She measures approximately 10.25 inches high and weighs around 176 grams. She has only remnants of hair,  blue glass eyes which open and close, an open mouth with teeth and hand painted eyebrows. Her face is charming, with blue eyes, red lips and hand painted eye brows.I am uncertain of what she is made from-but it appears as though her head & face MAY have a wax outer layer as there is a definite sheen to it, her arms appear to be made of wood with hands that are movable and possibly of the same material as the head. Her lower legs appear to be made of bisque with hand painted socks and shoes. Her dress is charming-it is made of starched cotton with faded black velvet detail and four vertical strands of (I believe) jet or glass black beads. The Doll’s body is solid to the waist, then there is a small area of (I think) papier mache covered in fabric and below this the hips/buttocks are solid again. Before the bisque (or similar) legs there is a soft fabric covered knee area to each leg which allows the legs to bend. The Dress is a little grubby, but it appears original and so I feel that this can be forgiven. There is some cracking to the wax(?) head and face, neck area and one leg and a tiny chip to the top lip area.Considering that the Doll is around 170 years old I consider it to be in good vintage condition, with any signs of wear being commensurate with age and normal use.

I have photographed her fully and the photos form part of the description.
