Ben is a wonderful character c1912 made by Bing measuring approx 19″. Ben has the most beautiful face.I think Bing bears capture the essence of real bears more than any other teddy bear manufacturer. Ben has his original glass eyes; the nose has been re-stitched at some point. He retains around 60% of his mohair. The foot pads are original with some holes to the felt; very secure though. His hand pads are very old replacements made from pink cloth. Ben’s limbs are a little loose these days and he’s stuffed with wood-wool with a now non working growler that now makes that wonderful clunking noise. He has seams running up the backs of his legs so typical of Bing . Bing bears are getting very hard to find and are much sought after.
