This large monkey was made by Merrythought, and is a girl monkey based on the Gran’pop range of the Lawson Wood monkeys.
She is in nice condition for her age, with pressed velvet face, and painted facial features.
The painting is nice and clear, but she does have a slightly dented area on her forehead.
Her feet and hands are velveteen, and she has a grey plush coat. It is not mohair, but feels more like a synthetic plush. She has the Merrythought Regd. design label on her foot, which I would think would date her to the 1930’s, but possibly this version could be a bit later due to the synthetic coat.
She measures approx 20 inches long ( approx 15 inches seated height)
She looks splendid in her red gingham dress, and is in nice clean condition for her age.
She comes from a non smoking and pet free home.
