George & Mildred are 2 Well Loved Antique/Vintage Bears both dating from the 1930’s who have been together for many years. First we have George in his blue knitted trousers, he’s made from a sort of Art Silk which over his long life has got rather discoloured, I gave him a light surface clean but it’s not made much difference! he has large Glass Eyes (Non Safety) and all his 4 pads have had various mends and repairs over the years. He has the Chad Valley Celluloid Button in his right ear which dates him to the 1930’s also he has the Chad Valley Hygienic Toy label on his left foot pad. He is approximately 19″ tall from the top of his ears to his feet, he’s sub filled and his head is a bit slumpy, he’s 5 way jointed (a bit stiff) but a lovely old ted considering his age of 80+ years.
Next we have Mildred an old Merrythought Mohair Bear she’s approximately 16″ from the top of her ears down to her feet, she has 4 rexine covered pads with the Merrythought label on her right foot and replaced Glass Eyes (Non Safety) her mouth & nose stitching has been redone and she is sub filled. Her left ear has been replaced and she has a mohair patch on the back of her head, she has been loved almost to complete baldness with very little mohair left on her body, she is 5 way jointed. In spite of all her problems, she is still smiling, most of the time (At George). Both these bears have been very well loved and have seen better days but they have been around for a long time 80+ years. Please note both the bears are Adult Collectors Items only and are not suitable for Children. Please take time to study the images in case I’ve forgotten something and any questions please ask. They are both having 40 winks now having just arrived back from The Teddy Bears Picnic, far too much excitement for a couple of 80+ year olds!!
Both Bears will be sent in the clothes they are pictured in, Mildred’s dress is quite fragile with breaks in it, George’s outfit is fine.
