DISMAL DESMOND – 3 Cut-out sheets by Dean’s Ragbook Co Ltd.
Printed on Dean’s reg. ‘Fluffidown’ soft brushed cotton fabric for making up toys at home.
(These were also sold made up for retail ).
Dismal Desmond was a famous dalmatian dog in the 1920’s and as well as becoming a
mascot was also featured in a cartoon at the time and was very poplular toy.
The three sheets feature Dismal Desmond as a). a large size dog,- Large Desmond (1926)
b), as several smaller toys (1927) and c). as ‘Cheerful Desmond’ (1928)
All were designed by Richard Ellett, Dean’s designer at that time.
Each measures approximately 30″ by 40″and is in as new/unused/antique condition with
no marks on the fabric. Each sheet carries the Dean’s name and identification.
