This oh so cute 1930/1940 little dog, is by Chiltern or Merrythought I think…He has the typical dropped nose stitching for earlier toys and dogs.
He is just 10.5″ / 27 cm tall and 10.5 ” / 27 cm long. He has original glass eyes, with painted backs and he is wood wool stuffed. He wears the remnants of his original ribbon.
He has lots of his mohair left, which is soft and so fluffy, that with floppy ears, a ridiculously big tail and a black patch on his back, he is just adorable.
I do wonder if his tail might be meant to curl over his back. If so, he has lost a bit of stuffing, ‘cos he really can’t be bothered and just lets it flop !! Please note, he is more creamy white than the photos, not so bright white.
