My gorgeous and near perfect condition antique 22″ teddy bear looks very similar to bears by British makers, and in particular, he could be mistaken for a Chiltern teddy bear.However, I am certain that he is by Joy Toys and I have included a photograph of an illustration of Joy Toys bears which was taken from A Collector’s Guide to Teddy bears By Sue Pearson.My teddy probably dates from the 1930’s, later Joy Toys bears often had fixed heads.Teddy has retained most of his distinctive nose stitching with upturned stitches and has other Joy Toys characteristics, which collectors will recognise.He is quite a large bear at 22″ tall and to helps demonstrate his size, I have shown him in one of the pictures ‘cuddling’ a 9″ baby bear – this teddy is not included in the sale.Please take time to view all of the photographs and also to read the item details/condition report, prior to bidding.Postage is 5 in the UK and overseas delivery is available via eBay’s Global Shipping Programme.Finally, please note that I always leave grateful feedback to buyers when I know all is well.
