This is Rocky, a lovely old mohair monkey dating to the 1920s . He is 15″ tall, with original amber and black glass eyes, a felt face, and his Alpha Farnell label sewn to his right leg. He is straw filled has a non working squeaker or growler in his tummy. He still retains his tail, which can often be missing with old monkeys. His rich, chocolate coloured mohair is bright and unfaded, gives good coverage and is in exceptionally good condition. He must have been in the wars at some point, for a long ago previous owner to have provided him with red leather “gloves” to cover up his hands, plus a leather armband to his right arm. But the fact that he has then been made a wonderful outfit to keep him safe from any further damage throughout the years is the reason the rest of him is so well preserved today. These very early stuffed toys by Farnell, especially retaining their labels, are becoming increasingly difficult to find. He is clean and fresh smelling, displays well and would make a lovely addition to any old bear or toy collection.
