This very unusual teddy bear was made by Chad Valley Co during the 1950s and is known as a “Cubby” teddy bear.
He measures approximately 18″ in height and is made from a soft brown plush material with a cream tummy.
He is all original, with brown/black glass eyes and a brown stitched nose and mouth. Unusually he has maroon coloured leatherette inserts to his ears and also the same material has been used for his pads.
He is stuffed with a mixture of wood wool and kapok stuffing. He has jointed arms and a jointed neck although his head has been fixed to his body by his previous owner.
No real wear or tear – excellent condition for his age.
A very lovely and rare example of a Chad Valley Cubby teddy bear in a larger size.
