Sweet little Alpha Farnell mohair teddy bear, TOFFEE was a character from BBC radio’s Listen with Mother.Dating from c.1953 and in all original condition.Manufacturer’s label in middle of back seam, rather hanging in ribbons but still there.Lovely rich golden mohair about 75% covering, main wear to face , back, and back of head.Kapok stuffed.Five way jointed, arms and legs move freely. Neck joint has 180 degree movement from left to right but I’d be forcing it to try a 360 turn.Original amber safety eyes.Vertically stitched black nose and inverted Y mouth all original with slight age fading.Rexine pads largely worn back to the backing fabric, but completely secure, no wear holes.Still wearing his original matching red knitted bobble hat and scarf. These are not in the best condition, they are very light-faded and the scarf in particular has holes and wear (I’ve photographed the worst part). I have gently darned the scarf to secure the knitted stitches so they don’t worsen. The hat is stitched to the bear’s head but the scarf is loose and a rare find as over the years are often removed/lost.Approx. 10″ (25cm) tall
