RARE ANTIQUE 1920’s GERMAN TEDDY BEAR HANDBAG / PURSE
A rare German mohair teddy bear with a purse to the back a with hinged metal clasp and chain.
The bear has a swivelling head, jointed arms and legs, glass eyes and a stitched nose and mouth.
An uncommon bear with great character.
Date: Circa 1920’s.
Dimensions: Height: 10 inches.
Condition: Average/Good untouched condition. A well loved old soldier with considerable wear/loss to the mohair, mostly around the head and outside limbs. The fabric and remaining mohair has some dirty spots. No cleaning has been undertaken. The original felt paw pads have been covered (glued) at some point in the bear’s long life with soft suede. The stuffing, presumed to be woodwool is a bit soft in his legs. The hinged frame and kissing clasps work as they should however; one side of purse frame is slightly at an angle when closed (see photos).The lining of the purse is intact and undamaged. Overseas bidders: Sorry, due to the heavy weight of this item, shipping is not available to bidders outside of the United Kingdom.
Refunds: A refund will only be made if I have made a genuine error in the listing and I accept that the item is not as described. A refund will only be made after the item has been returned (within 14 days). A refund will not be given if the returned item has incurred any damage. I have a lot of experience with shipping items to domestic and overseas buyers. My items are extremely well packaged and do not get damaged in the post.
