FARNELL ALPHATOY PUSS IN BOOTS…. RARE COLLECTABLE PLUSH SOFT TOY
Hard to find, this Puss in Boots was made by the UK’s oldest original teddy bear manufacturer, J K Farnell and Co, who were the predecessors of Merrythought. Puss is in really good condition for his age, unfaded with luxuriant plush, especially his magnificent bushy tail! He has green glass eyes and is sporting his original eponymous red felt buckled boots and satin ribbon.
He has the Farnell’s Alphatoy label stitched to the bottom of his left foot (visible in the photograph).
There are small plush losses just under his mouth, in the crease of his right arm and on the right side of his chest beneath his ribbon, and the heel of his paws has come through the felt of his boots creating small tears at the back (see final photograph). Otherwise he is in very good shape for a gentleman in his 80s and represents a fantastic opportunity to purchase a very rare and sought after antique soft toy!
