Pearl- Old Farnell Teddy Bear ex Musical Antique Vintage clothes TLC
Pearl is a special Teddy. She is stuffed with kapok with a little woodwool made in the 1930’s. Pearl is a (ex musical) Farnell Art Silk Teddy Bear . – identifying features or her fixed legs, jointed arms and head and blue painted back glass eyes… at first glance, she’s very similar in style to Merrythought’s Bingie bears, but there’s an example of a similar Farnell bear on page 51 of Pauline Cockrill’s “The Teddy Bear Encyclopedia”.She is covered white/cream (and pink) curled art silk mohair – the colour has aged as often happens with white teds. She has beautiful original blue painted back glass eyes, a stitched nose, felt hand pads and pinky feet :-)As mentioned Pearl is a seated ted, and measures around 11inches tall in this position.Pearl is fitted with a swiss made “Stop and Go” musical movement. She would benefit from some musical tlc, as although she is musical it doesn’t currently work as the winder flicks back when wound up, this happened recently. This may well be fixable for those who want a musical ted.These teds are rare as I haven’t come across one before. She is a pretty teddy, and really does compliment a hug. Pearl can be seen having a cuddle in the garden with her good friend Bert (who is also looking for a home), and she’s now hoping someone may have a new garden for her to sit in when the suns out?As mentioned below, layaway may be possible, please contact me using the business seller information at the bottom of the page. xPlease note the photographs form part of the description so please study them carefully.
