Peanut..Adorable early mohair teddy bear.Measuring just a small 10.5″ from pads to tips of ears.Dating circa 1920.With lovely long arms.The final seam appears to be at the bottom of the front of tummy.Original felt pads to feet which do show a couple of holes.Hand pads have been replaced over the original torn and worn felt underneath.Teddy has original glass eyes with painted backs.He retains some claw stitchingHe is a little bit of a mystery to me and I am not sure if he is German or British.I have studied him closely and he is certainly early and has many original features with an unusual long mouth and the down turned back wing stitched nose with a little missing in the middle.Entirely filled with wood wool which has settled in places.I can feel an early coil squeaker to tummy which no longer works.Five way jointed all jointed with head feeling loose but stable.Mohair is overall very good with just a little thinning to forehead and snout.Peanut is a wonderful & compact little character full of old bear charm…From smoke free home.Any questions please ask.
