Antique Early 19th Century German Teddy BearHump Back Pronounced Nose Swivel Joints Circa 1920A handsome, characterful golden plush mohair teddy bear dating to thecirca 1910 to 1920 period. Sadly he has no button to identify his maker, justthe remains of a small hole and thread in his left ear. He is found in verygood original condition complete with shoe button black eyes and blackvertically stitched nose. He is fully swivel jointed with swivel head and what appearto be his original felt pads which do not have any stitched claws. We just lovehis cupped ears, pronounced stuffed eyebrows and long nose. He has long armsand a pointed hump back. He is firmly stuffed with his original crunchysounding wood wool, excelsior stuffing to all limbs and body. He does not haveany manufacturers button and has no evidence of ever having had a growler. He waspurchased with this colourful little scarf and doesn’t he look dapper!Size: 13″ (33 CM)Condition: This old boy is in very good firm and sound condition but heis not pristine. There are areas of thinning to his golden silk fur seen to hisforehead and right arm. His right hip is a little stiff to swivel / arthriticwhen compared to his left leg. But I think we can forgive his slight loss ofagility after all of those years. A possible re-stitched area to the base ofhis left ear. A possible old animal glue repair to the left seam to the rear ofhis neck. This is a fantastic opportunity to own a superb early bear from aquality maker.Item ID:11006
