I absolutely love this big old teddy bear and admit that I have struggled to part with him :(
I know that he needs a fair bit of TLC – if he is to be restored to his former glory, but even so, he is an extremely fine bear.He dates to the late 1920’s, early 1930’s era, and has been one family owned since new.Happily, he was (evidently) dearly loved and cherished by his previous owner, and so I hope that he will find an equally loving home to enjoy his well deserved retirement.This is a good quality early British teddy, and I am thinking possibly an early Chad, but he might be Terry’s, or even Farnell. As I say, there might be a few clues when he is ‘examined’ during any professional restoration – which I am leaving to his buyer.The teddy is quite heavy as he is well packed with old wood-wool, but I think I can hear a lead tilt growler rattling around, so this might help identify his maker.Please take time to view all of the images because these will be the most helpful part of the item description/condition report, but I have provided a fairly detailed written condition report, so please take time to read this too.FREE postage is applicable to mainland UK addresses and will be charged at approximately 25 to international destinations.
