CONDITION NOTE….please note that there is a faint horizontal line on the top left hand side, between the two large dolls….. You can see it in the photograph…this was part of the original engraving and is not damage but is a fault in the original engraving.This is an original, unique collage and not a print. To make this collage I used only original engravings cut from 19th century books and magazines, so its approximately 120 to 140 years old. It’s made using a traditional cut and paste method, and to give the collage support, it’s attached to an A4 sized card. It’s a standard size, so it’s very easy to find a frame that you likeOn the back it’s signed and titled and also comes with a certificate of authenticity. I don’t use computers or photocopies to make any of my collages, I just use original 19th century engravings, scissors and occasionally scalpels!
In this collage I’ve been influenced by the collages of Max Ernst, and I’ve used the same techniques that Ernst used when creating “Une Semaine De Bont. Max Ernst’s collages sell for upwards of 20,000 each, so my collage might be a more economical choice!
