This charming Antique Victorian Porcelain Half Doll Pin Cushion or Lampshade Doll dates I believe to around 1880 or thereabouts.The Half Doll measures approximately 11.5 cm high and with the skirt base stands around 27 cm high.It weighs around 237 grams.The Half Doll is in good vintage condition, with the only signs of wear commensurate with age and use being a tiny chip to one finger tip.She has hand painted features including a beauty spot to one cheek.I think that her origins are German, but I cannot be certain-she has some numbers to her back-a 7 and below that the numbers 1030 – the first number is a little unclear but I think it is a 1.Her skirt has been formed from fabric covered wire and on top of this she wears a lace trimmed cotton underskirt and a green silk overskirt adorned with gold metallic thread with pink flowers and edging.Considering that the Doll is around 140 years old I consider it to be in good vintage condition, with any signs of wear being commensurate with age and normal use.
