A very cute 1940’s Chad Valley bear. It has original amber glass eyes with a typical early Chad Vally stitched nose & mouth. This type of nose used from 1920. Slight upturned arms with brown felt paws & foot pads. Five jointed with moveable head, arms & legs. There is a remain of the chest label (see photo 7). There is also a Chad Vally label stitched on the left foot pad read “THE CHAD VALLEY CO LTD – BY APPOINTMENT TOY MAKERS TO H.M. THE QUEEN” This foot label used from 1938 to 1952. Golden mohair, approx 15 inches in height. The condition is very good overall for the bear in this age. There is surface moth tracks on the felt of the right paw (see photo 10). The value of the bear is 500 on a 20 years old bears collector’s guide. Please check all photos carefully for the condition of the bear and make sure you are happy with what you are buying.
