Sweet MerrythoughtMerrytougbhtMerrythought blonde mohair teddy bear. Circa 1930’s
This lovely Merrythought teddy bear dates to the 1930’s and is 19″ tall and five ways jointed with all his joints working smoothly so he can be nicely posed. His body and limbs are stuffed with kapok and his head is stuffed with wood wool and he has a non working press growler in his tummy.
He has been loved, as you can see from the photos, but he still retains a fairly good coverage of his soft blonde mohair plush with just overall thinning and some bare areas which are mostly on hisarms. I would estiamte he has retained approximately 75% coverage overall. His stuffing is also a little loose and he has quite a schlumpy posture which I think just adds to his character.
He has an embroidered label on his right foot and a wishbone celluloid button in his left ear which
dates him to the 1930’s. His nose sitching has rubbed thin and his eyes might be vintage replacementsalthough if they are, they suit him very well. He has the remains of his webbed claw stitching on one paw and three claw stitches on each foot pad is in generally good sturdy condition an endearingsmile and expressive face and he would make a lovely addition to any hug of bears.
Being offered with a very reasonable ‘Buy it Now’ price, but as ever, I am open to all sensible offers.
